This painting has been two years in the making. I first began sketching it in my temporary studio in my mother‘s garage where I painted for nine months after hurricane Helene. It was then transported to my Lake Lure studio where much more imagery was laid down and most of the painting was completed. I tried to finish it before my studio was moved to Ocracoke, but there was just too much detail. It was transported to my studio here on Ocracoke and I just completed it. Whew! That’s a painting spanning an era.
