Consider all Things
60 x 30 x 3 acrylic on wood panel.
In the Buddhist philosophy, followers are instructed not to follow any teaching with blind faith, even if it’s a tradition that’s passed down, if it’s based on rumor rather than verified, just because its written in scripture, if it’s only logical on the surface level, or only accepted out of respect for the source or teacher. Buddha instructed followers to ask questions like will this lead to harm or ill? Are these things praised by truly wise people? Buddha taught that actions, rooted in greed, hatred and delusion bring suffering, and that actions based in generosity, love and truth, lead to well-being and contentment or happiness.
